Scott McDonough - Owner/President/General Manager
Scott founded McDonough Structures in 1993. In the years prior, he worked building stadiums all over the United States and the Caribbean. Since its inception, Scott has developed McDonough Structures into one of the leading construction and remodeling companies in Iowa City. He is responsible for construction planning and management and specializes in the application of building science techniques. Scott is a graduate of the University of Iowa.
Olga Badovinac - Designer
Olga Badovinac received her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from the University of Belgrade School of Architecture in 1996. She then worked at The Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments of Serbia as a member of the team responsible for reconstruction and preservation of monuments of national importance. After moving to United States she became a stay-at-home mom before she joined the crew in 2006.
John Martinek - Project Development and Management
John is in charge of development and management for all of our projects. He worked as a cabinetmaker from 1990 to 1996 and began building cabinets with McDonough Structures in 1999. Prior to joining the team, John spent 3 years teaching art in Turkey. He remains an active artist and has exhibited his paintings, drawings, and prints nationally and internationally. John received a bachelors degree from Knox College and an MFA from the University of Iowa in Printmaking. See more of his work at www.johnmartinek.com.
Damon Callahan - Construction Project Manager
Damon is perhaps the most well rounded carpenter at McDonough Structures. After working for several years as a cabinet and fine furniture maker, Damon moved to Montana to build traditional log homes. A McDonough Structures team member since 2000, Damon is responsible for applying our building techniques on all sizes of projects. He is a graduate of Ellsworth and Kirkwood Community College.
Eric "Ike" Eichhorn – Cabinetmaker/Finish Specialist
Ike joined the team in 2005. After starting out with the construction crew, he now works in our cabinet and trim shop. Ike handles all aspects of our woodworking and cabinetry production and is responsible for in-house painting, staining, and fine finishing. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa.
Jamie Boling - Fine Carpentry Specialist
Jamie is a talented artist and has a wide range of experiences in the fine arts and teaching worlds. Some highlights include working as a research fellow at the Louvre in Paris, teaching art at three different universities, living in Berlin as a working artist, and collaborating as a founding member of the art group Paintallica. In addition to being a talented artist he is also a richly experienced and highly skilled carpenter. A brief list of projects include working as a project manager for a high end design build firm in New York City, working on period set construction for HBO’s John Adams, and doing contract work for the Whitney Museum and other New York art galleries. Jamie has a BFA in fine art from the University of Nebraska and an MFA in painting from the University of Iowa. See his work at www.jamieboling.com.
